F l o r a l L o v e…♡

I love sowing some seeds and the last few years I’ve grown these amazing Cosmos flowers – just on my windowsill.  I normally put two to three seeds per pot as not all germinate and you can then prick out and pot on the strongest seedlings.

If you want something dramatic and tall for your border which keeps on giving blooms from summer into late Autumn, then have a go at growing cosmos – you’ll not be disappointed! Oh do let me know how you got on if you grow any Cosmos. Happy gardening!

Hello and Happy Easter…

 

I hope you’re all keeping as well as possible… I’ve been spending my time taking things slow, baking and pottering in the garden and trying to keep as positive as possible! I find during these challenging times or any tough period, filling my life with all the things which bring joy and make me happy leaves less time for worry!

So yesterday I got my apron on and made these Hot Cross Buns, which always is an Easter ritual, I didn’t intend changing. Yes they’re a bit of work but nothing compares to homemade and the achievement of making your own! So long as you have strong flour and dried yeast!! As I’d planned to make these yummy buns I made sure to save enough yeast, which I know is in such short supply!

It’s very difficult not seeing loves ones but somehow even though we’re further apart we feel closer together. As routines have become much slower, we have a lot more time to speak and connect with friends and family – bringing us closer together.

It really is the simple things which bring us most happiness in life and making time for others always brings us closer together, especially during these challenging times.

MONDAY THOUGHT…♡

Very often we’re on a quest to seek out happiness, as if it’s a tangible thing.

We may feel it is necessary to strive and struggle in order to obtain this magic feeling but really it’s right in front of us! It’s about finding small moments in our lives, simple, uncomplicated that gives us that feeling of contentment.

Once we slow down, pausing every so often to notice what is around us – it may be a beautiful flower, the sun shining or enjoying our favourite cuppa, we start to experience true happiness – no expectations or judgements.

The more you find time to do the things you love, it leaves little space for worry! Making time for a de-stressing treatment is alway a perfect way to enjoy some time alone and escape into deep relaxation.

Selfcare… at Christmas

During this busy festive period, we’re often so focused on getting the correct gifts for others that we can totally forget and neglect ourselves, meaning when Christmas arrives we’re left feeling totally exhausted and lacking in energy!

Taking time to slow down and make time for yourself is vital, otherwise things past by and you miss all those little moments.

Monday Thought…♡

When we are grateful for all the little things in our lives we suddenly realise how much we have. I know it is not always easy as life can be challenging. I find even taking a few minutes before bedtime, to acknowledge to myself all what I have in my life and or the small things which give me joy during the day – I then go to sleep feeling much more content!

I do have a journal which I occasionally write in, but only when it feels right to do so with no pressure, but mostly I just acknowledge what I’m grateful for. I think the important thing is doing what is right for you and not what you think you should be doing. After all it’s not meant to be a task, but rather something which you enjoy and comes naturally, as and when you feel! We are all learning what works for us!

Hello Autumn…

Autumn…

What can I say –  my absolute favourite season! Magical colours with rich tones, comforting food and the opportunity to really slow things down. I move into Autumn full of enthusiasm and ready to embrace the longer nights, using this an opportunity to take care of myself and enjoy all the things I put by the way side during the summer months!

Summer can be a busy time for many, so as we shift towards Autumn our bodies are ready for this change – time to take things easier and to recharge and replenish both our body and mind. So, I can’t think of any better way to unwind and move into the new season with ease, than enjoying a treatment, allowing time to myself with no distractions! If I’m reading your mind – then get in touch!

Spring clean your wellbeing…

Spring… a time to blossom and make changes towards our wellbeing.

It’s officially Spring – time really does fly by much too quickly! Which means it’s good to cherish every moment and take time to slow down and enjoy relaxation and listening to what your body needs, rather than running on empty!

With birds singing and flowers blooming… I love Spring.  It’s the perfect time to have a look at what areas feel out of balance and work out how we can make some positive changes to bring more harmony and contentment into our daily lives. It’s not about adopting a strict regimen but rather about being kind to ourselves and taking small steps to improve our overall wellbeing.

Therefore Spring is a perfect time to make these changes as we move from hibernation… it’s a time for creation and to cleanse the body and mind for the coming months. It’s an opportunity for a new start, clearing out the past and making way for new – like a Spring clean for your wellbeing!

So what are my things I find helpful for me?

I know what works best for me and I try to integrate these into my routine for optimum health and wellbeing – but it’s not a strict regimen!

  • Going to bed at a decent time so I get eight hours sleep to rest, recharge and replenish my body and mind.
  • Having a bath when I need relaxation before bedtime with essential oils such as; lavender chamomile or marjoram is my perfect way to relax and unwind.
  • Doing 10-20 mins yoga in the morning – ideally ever day!
  • Getting outdoors for a daily walk and pottering in my garden.
  • Making time for meditation and taking a slow approach to life – no need to be constantly rushing.
  • Having regular treatments; such as massage and reflexology.
  • Enjoying time with friends.
  • I love anything creative and making time to cook or bake is so rewarding.

Sometimes our wellbeing can be the last thing many of us give attention to and really it’s the most important, as a balanced body and mind means we are well equipped to flourish in all areas. Thus, having a treatment is not an indulgence just when we are feeling rock bottom but rather a way of regularly maintaining balance and harmony within.
