Very often we’re on a quest to seek out happiness, as if it’s a tangible thing.

We may feel it is necessary to strive and struggle in order to obtain this magic feeling but really it’s right in front of us! It’s about finding small moments in our lives, simple, uncomplicated that gives us that feeling of contentment.

Once we slow down, pausing every so often to notice what is around us – it may be a beautiful flower, the sun shining or enjoying our favourite cuppa, we start to experience true happiness – no expectations or judgements.

The more you find time to do the things you love, it leaves little space for worry! Making time for a de-stressing treatment is alway a perfect way to enjoy some time alone and escape into deep relaxation.

Monday Thought…♡

When we are grateful for all the little things in our lives we suddenly realise how much we have. I know it is not always easy as life can be challenging. I find even taking a few minutes before bedtime, to acknowledge to myself all what I have in my life and or the small things which give me joy during the day – I then go to sleep feeling much more content!

I do have a journal which I occasionally write in, but only when it feels right to do so with no pressure, but mostly I just acknowledge what I’m grateful for. I think the important thing is doing what is right for you and not what you think you should be doing. After all it’s not meant to be a task, but rather something which you enjoy and comes naturally, as and when you feel! We are all learning what works for us!

Hello Autumn…

Autumn…

What can I say –  my absolute favourite season! Magical colours with rich tones, comforting food and the opportunity to really slow things down. I move into Autumn full of enthusiasm and ready to embrace the longer nights, using this an opportunity to take care of myself and enjoy all the things I put by the way side during the summer months!

Summer can be a busy time for many, so as we shift towards Autumn our bodies are ready for this change – time to take things easier and to recharge and replenish both our body and mind. So, I can’t think of any better way to unwind and move into the new season with ease, than enjoying a treatment, allowing time to myself with no distractions! We are already into the fourth week of January…. how did that happen so quickly!!  Whilst many find January a long dark month – I embrace this opportunity to adopt a slower peace of life, enjoying the peace, calm effect it brings… a time for simple pleasures.

Yes my first first week was a busy one, getting back to work and catching up with friends and family but I I’ve also made time to enjoy the simple things and taking things slow… no strict restrictions!

As with a New Year we all begin with great intentions and enthusiasm and all to often we can’t follow what we intended to do – setting unrealistic goals, therefore putting unnecessary pressure on ourselves.  This is the reason why I never make New Year resolutions but instead make a mental note or write a letter to myself to be kind and take care of…

Mums need… Me-time too!

How does a ‘Kid-Free’ zone sound?… no kids calling for attention, free from running after them and a much needed break from daily chores, never mind trying to keep a career ongoing. No wonder Mum’s are feeling completely frazzled!! Constantly multi-tasking… sleep deprived and crying out for a couple of hours to themselves… free from any distractions!! So how about making a ‘date with yourself’ and giving permission to not feel guilty for experiencing some relaxation time. Sounds good yeah!
